I got to spend some time in Batesville with Leah and Derek this past weekend. Derek’s been calling Batesville home since last fall. I’ve been there once before (when we helped move Derek in to his new digs) and I’ve been eagerly awaiting the day I could visit again! It’s a quaint town, full of adorable homes and businesses and everyone is friendly. This time around Derek and Leah took me to their favorite restaurants (they know how to show a gal a good time!). On Saturday morning we had breakfast at Sherman House, which is one of the oldest buildings in Batesville. We filled up on fried biscuits with apple butter (and later ordered another round, but this time with cinnamon and sugar!), fried goetta (a meat patty made from pork and oats) and the best rye toast I think I’ve ever had!
